BCVS support for Bid Writing

BCVS ran a bid writing workshop on 19th October 2022 with pro bono support provided by Blinkbright with thanks.   

Resources developed by BCVS will also be added below to support groups to develop bid writing skills and increase success rates.

You may find it useful to look at the following resources, to help you learn how to write a winning funding bid.  There are recorded free webinars available from NCVO (National Council for Voluntary Organisation):  https://knowhow.ncvo.org.uk/studyzone/write-a-winning-funding-bid

Action Funder is free to groups to subscribe to. This gives access to lists of different categories of grants such as to improve mental health, supporting children through Art, and Environmental projects. These can be viewed once you register.

For sporting activity Active Derbyshire and Active Notts  can alert you about funding news. Grantfinder is a national database but there is a cost to subscribe.

Social enterprises in both Bassetlaw and Bolsover Districts who register with the Social Enterprise Exchange can apply for grants from £1,00 to £5,000. There are periodic funding rounds, which you are notified about through the newsletter you will receive/ are subscribed to when you register.  There is some paperwork and discussions you have to go through to be eligible but joining is free.

The Funding Finders Resources on the  Charity Excellence Framework website has a free grant finding Directory resource and the Charities Aid Foundation provide a small selection of the trust and foundation programmes open to charities and social enterprise organisations across the UK.
