The different funding pots explained

 

As we are sure many of you are aware, Bassetlaw District Council was successful in securing Government funding to improve the District, with thanks to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Some of this funding is now available to the local sector.

There are a variety of different funding pots all with different aims and objectives so we hope that this email will help to explain the difference between them all, so that you are aware of what is available, and what you might be able to apply for in the coming weeks.

Arts and Heritage Grant Programme

The primary goal of the UKSPF is to build pride in place and increase life chances across the UK.


This aligns with Levelling Up White Paper missions, particularly: ‘By 2030, pride in place, such as people’s satisfaction with their town centre and engagement in local culture and community, will have risen in every area of the UK, with the gap between the top performing and other areas closing.’

Grant funding is now available to support Intervention E6: Funding for support for local arts, cultural, heritage and creative activities

The Indicative fund allocation is: £500 Min - £5000 Max.

The key dates are as follows:
 
Call open: 10th July 2023 at 12 noon                                                                       
 
Call Closes: 7th August 2023 at 12 noon
 
Evaluation of applications to commence: 8th August 2023
 
Notification of outcome to applicants, week commencing 4th September 2023

Rural England Prosperity Fund

Bassetlaw District Council’s Economic Development Team has a total of £714,251 from the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF). This is for capital interventions to support rural communities and business enterprises as part of the REPF.

The Rural Fund provides capital funding to:

  • Support new and existing rural businesses to develop new products and facilities that will be of wider benefit to the local economy. This includes farm businesses looking to diversify income streams.

  • Support new and improved community infrastructure, providing essential community services and assets for local people and businesses to benefit the local economy.

  • Support new and existing rural businesses to develop new products and facilities that will be of wider benefit to the local economy.

  • Support new and improved infrastructure.

  • Support projects in rural area.

 

Who can apply?

  • Micro and small businesses employing 49 employees or fewer (1 FTE equates to individual working 30 hours or more)

  • Registered charities/community associations

  • Parish Councils

  • Higher and further education institutions

  • Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIO)

  • Community Interest Companies (CIC) limited by guarantee (and have charitable objectives)

  • Community Benefit Societies (Bencom)

  • Constituted Community Groups

  • Faith Groups, where the activity is not promoting religion

  • Small groups with no formal constitution (non-constituted groups will be considered on a case-by-case basis)

The funding is limited between £10,000 to £50,000 per project. This needs to include a minimum of 30% match funding needed for businesses, or 10% match funding needed for community groups.

Community Grants Programme

A Community and Voluntary Grant Programme will open soon that will enable community and voluntary groups to apply for projects that will make a difference in their local neighbourhoods.

Full details on this will be released soon.

Top Tip:

If your projects are different and meet the aims of the fund in question, you will be permitted to apply to more than one fund, if eligible.
