11th July
Big issues need real debate, a big conversation between politicians and the people they serve. As Mayor of the East Midlands, I’m inviting you to be part of something important.
Throughout July, I’ll be leading a series of conversations in Derby, Chesterfield, and Nottingham – and I want you to be there. These events are about more than discussion – they're about understanding what matters most to you and how, together, we can build a brighter future for the East Midlands. We’ll spark ideas, build connections, and shape a shared vision to make the East Midlands the very best place to live, to work, and to learn.
Since taking office, I’ve secured over £4 billion in investment for our region. But I believe growth must go further. We need inclusive growth. That means growth that:
- Gets people into good local jobs
- Tackling the root causes of health inequality – lifting people out of poverty
- Builds a better transport system – a quality service that people can depend upon.
- Unlocks opportunity in more places – whether you live in a city, town or village
These sessions are your chance to get involved. Whether you're a resident, run a community group or own a business, your voice matters. These events will help shape key priorities ahead of the Inclusive Growth Commission’s final report and the launch of our Local Growth Plan, all coming this autumn.
