Memorandum of Understanding between the VCSE sector and the Integrated Care System

Memorandum of Understanding between the VCSE sector and the Integrated Care System

The national guidance for Integrated Care Systems requires a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that sets out how the voluntary community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector will be embedded in the system and the culture, processes and approaches necessary to make this happen.

Significant work has already been undertaken in Derbyshire to promote the substantial contribution the VCSE sector makes and the importance of engaging it as an equal partner at all stages of the planning cycle. We want to develop a Memorandum of Understanding that builds on this work and sets out our partnership aspirations in a way that is clear, actionable and measurable. The MoU will be regularly reviewed.

The process of developing the MoU is as important as the final document itself as it should help to stimulate discussion within and across sectors and some support materials have been developed to help with this. Attached is a draft MoU that has been produced by a VCSE Alliance Task Group to promote discussion.

We would like to encourage self-facilitated discussions in VCSE networks and forums. Individual feedback is also very much welcomed.

Discussions will also take place within the system including Local Place Alliances, Place Partnerships, Delivery Boards etc. Our intended process and timescales are listed below and so feedback would be appreciated by 6th April 2023. All feedback can be sent to me at wynnegarnett@googlemail.com
