Concert Club

Ever wanted to have an evening of entertainment and meet new people?

The Royal Concert Hall is hosting another Concert Club to tackle social isolation and welcomes people to be part of this scheme.  We have places available for this at the special discounted rate of £15.00 per person on Saturday 23rd March. The evening will begin with a cup of tea in the Cowen’s Suite, followed by watching the Sinfonia Viva performance.

This Introduction to Classics: Concert Club on Saturday 23rd March will begin at 6.00 pm to meet for a hot drink and in the Cowen’s Suite. The Sinfonia Viva commences at 7.30 pm. (entrance to the Royal Concert Hall is via South Sherwood Street), Theatre Square, NG1 5ND. The concert features Robert Schumann’s richly Romantic Piano Concerto, with the brilliant Swiss pianist, Jean-Selim Abdelmoula, as soloist, and Fauré’s beautiful Requiem – a breathtaking vision of eternity featuring the famously angelic soprano solo, Pie Jesu. The exciting Australian rising star, Natalie Murray Beale conducts the performance.

20 PLACES at £15 per ticket. This includes your concert ticket, concert programme, a hot drink pre-show. There is also an option on the day of adding an ice cream at the interval for £1. You can also attend a free pre-concert talk about the orchestra at 6.20pm in the auditorium if you wish. A room host will help support your visit if you have any questions and help reduce your anxiety about visiting a new place.

Some short films will be played of Lotte Reiniger’s pioneering silhouette animations followed a variety of shadow play activities.

Although suitable for all ages, our target audience are adults, people at risk of isolation, who are older or in poorer health in levelling-up areas. The activities can be done sitting at a table and are very accessible.

Although this event is free, we would prefer people to book on so that we can manage numbers. This can be done by either calling in the library or emailing eastwood.library@inspireculture.org.uk
