Job Opportunity

Specialist Worker 20 hours (4 x 5hour days) £17 per hour.
Wednesday to Saturday 9.30am to 2.30pm (flexible) Job share would be considered for the right applicants.

One year contract – should funding be obtained this could be renewed.

This is a unique opportunity to pioneer a new venture.  The Specialist Worker will be based within The Brook Community Church and Centre and The Storehouse community food shop in Shirebrook, Derbyshire.  Here we support people who are in crisis, vulnerable, homeless or have addictions. 
 

You will work with the existing support team and provide group support addressing addiction / recovery, mental health issues and other themes as appropriate.  The establishing of a peer support group will be facilitated.  In addition within your role there will be one to one sessions with individuals who are on their recovery journey.  This could focused on relapse prevention, support through crisis / bereavement or even support accessing Rehabilitation Services.

You will offer advice to support workers who will be available to carry out practical tasks and offer support to individuals.

We have an innovative support package for our one to one work by providing a pre-paid mobile phones so that support and encouragement is only ever a call away.  This will aid to communication for other agencies too.

We will be working alongside other agencies and other community groups.
