Youth Team Volunteers teach young people, of all different backgrounds, vital and life-changing first aid skills. We have two programmes – our 5-10 year olds are called Badgers and our 10-17 year olds are called Cadets.

You'll help them build up their confidence, self-discipline and, teamwork skills, and have some fun along the way. 

We're looking for Youth Helpers and Youth Leaders. You’ll start off as a Youth Helper and, if you fancy it, you'll get the opportunity to become a Youth Leader, with some additional training and experience.

Who we are looking for: Do you have the passion to help young people and have some fun!

Cadet and Badger sessions usually run for 1½-2 hours, Badgers meeting Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm and the Cadets meeting Thursday evenings from 6:00pm, during term time, to start with, we're looking for you to join the unit at least once a month (but we love it when volunteers can join the young people every week).

We will also provide training for example, safeguarding and St John Ambulance policies, but full support will be given
Requirements: Will require a Criminal Record Check (DBS)
Suitable for: People with Visual Impairment, Employee Volunteers, Indoors, Event, Long Term Commitment, Older People
Practical considerations: Welcome programme introducing you to the project and wider charity
Training in appropriate St John policies
Safeguarding training to help you support the young people you'll be working with
