You’d also be joining Europe’s largest conservation charity and the wider National Trust team proudly looking after 780 miles of coastline, over 250,000 hectares of land, over 500 historic houses, castles, ancient monuments, gardens, parks and nature reserves (including lighthouses, villages, pubs and a gold mine!). We are a unique charity welcoming millions of people each year and with a vision to open up places for the benefit of everyone, for ever.

What's involved?
• Providing a warm, welcoming and friendly approach to all of our visitors, encouraging our visitors to experience activities and events in the park, from nature exploration, sports and games and events. No events experience is needed, just the desire to have fun, have a go, be a team player and to help us run fantastic activities in Clumber Park.
• Supporting our visitors by providing them with information and guidance so they get the most from their time with us, supporting with till use and cash ahndling where appropriate.
• Welcoming visitors at several points throughout their visit, not just at the start, so they can ask questions whenever they need to
• Responding to situations to ensure we always provide a great experience for people – and often spotting issues before they happen!
• There will be plenty of opportunities to do the little things that make a big difference, such as remembering the name of a regular visitor
• Gathering comments and feedback by chatting to visitors so that we can continually improve
• Helping things run as smoothly and safely as possible – this includes getting to know health and safety and evacuation procedures.
• Being part of a team that may need to adapt and change in response to local needs, National Trust priorities or changes to government guidelines e.g .Covid
• We want all our volunteers to feel welcome and to have an equally positive experience when volunteering with us. So, volunteers will:
• Be provided with the necessary induction, training, equipment and reasonable adjustments to do this role well and safely
• Be offered expenses to cover agreed travel costs between home and place of volunteering.
• Have remote access to support, news and rotas via our volunteer website.

Requirements: Own vehicle or have access to a vehicle

Practical considerations: You will need to be energised and active; we are an inclusive organisation, so we will endeavour to make reasonable adjustments where we can.

You will need to be able to arrange personal travel to and from Clumber Park; volunteer expenses cover travel costs.

Disabled Access details: Not all areas of the park are accessible, but we have a lift in the Discovery Centre and
Expenses details: We offer volunteer expenses to volunteers to claim for all types of regular travel and other dependent activity. This can be fully explained on recruitment and induction.
Any Age/Gender restrictions: +18 only, although works experience and youth volunteering are currently under review and we hope to return this in 2023.
Support for volunteers with additional needs: We treat every volunteer as an individual and are happy to discuss with applicants any potential need or support they feel they may need to become a volunteer with the team.
Induction Arrangments: We offer a full induction to the National Trust, along with property and department sessions. You will learn more about the wider team, our values and our ways of working and will allow you to ask any questions you may have. You will work through an induction checklist and will be allocated branded uniform and badges during this phase, whilst fully understanding how to use the 'myvolunteering system' and any other support you need.
Insurance Cover: All volunteers are fully covered under Public Liability Insurance whilst working with us.
Support Available: When you join our team, you become a part of the Clumber Park family. Each volunteer has a dedicated team volunteer lead, along with support from the portfolio Volunteering & Community Manager. You will be supported through induction, training, regular team meetings and those informal 1-2-1 cuppa breaks. We offer wider support to volunteers through our People Centre, with access to our Care Coins support line and volunteer benefits to access National Trust properties and discounts on completion of regular volunteering in the team.
Training: We offer extensive mandatory online training for all volunteers in introducing volunteering at the National Trust, Information Security (GDPR), Safeguarding, Fire Safety, Everyone Welcome (Diversity & Inclusion), Basic Manual Handling and many more departmental modules. The volunteer role you undertake will inform as to whether you need additional in person or online training. There is great opportunity to explore and develop your personal skills as a volunteer at the National Trust.
