Opportunity Description: Are you green-fingered with a love for the outdoors?! We are looking for garden volunteers. This is a very special role to support us to keep our hospice gardens a special haven for local families.

Who we are looking for: Key tasks:

General maintenance of the garden, weeding etc.
Planting and watering
Assisting with garden projects
Maintaining garden furniture
Painting fences and garden furniture
Requirements: Will require a Criminal Record Check (DBS)
Suitable for: People with Restricted Memory, Outdoor, People Seeking Work, Older People
Practical considerations: Volunteer recruitment process involves: application form, informal chat, 2 character references, Standard level DBS and e-learning.

Disabled Access details: No steps around the hospice gardens.

Access from car park to ground floor for toilet access. Disabled toilets on ground floor and 1st floor. Lift to 1st floor for kitchen access.
Expenses details: Free meal, if volunteering over lunchtime; travel expenses to be agreed in advance with Volunteer Co-ordinator.
Any Age/Gender restrictions: Volunteers must be aged 16 or over.

16-17 year olds must have parental consent, with a parent signature on the application form.
Support for volunteers with additional needs: Volunteering activity is risk assessed to ensure appropriate support is in place. There may be times where some roles are not suitable due to the nature of the role.
Induction Arrangments: Induction and task-specific training by staff gardener.
Insurance Cover: Yes
Support Available: On-going support from staff gardener.
Training: E-learning.
