Opportunity Description: Haven't got lots of free time but fancy getting involved for one-off volunteering for a brilliant cause?! Want to make wonderful memories, whilst supporting us to raise funds for our children's hospice? Looking for something to boost your CV? Who we are looking for: What we are looking for:
Volunteers who are
• Available for one-off volunteering mornings/afternoons or full days, dependent on how much time you have (events tends to be at weekends)
• Friendly
• Willing to be part of a team
• Respectful of members of the public, staff and fellow volunteers
Requirements:
Suitable for: People with Visual Impairment, Employee Volunteers, Indoors, Event, School Students, People with Restricted Memory, Outdoor, University Students, People Seeking Work, Short Term Commitment, Older People
Practical considerations: • We try match volunteers with events/fundraising activities that are happening locally to them.
• The process of becoming a volunteer involves a short form and an informal chat to get to know you further, seeing 2 pieces of ID as proof of your name and address.
• We provide travel expenses but try to keep travelling to a minimum to keep costs down. Any expenses to be agreed in advance with the volunteer supervisor.
• We will provide information in advance of each event/fundraising activity and any task-specific training you'd need.

Disabled Access details: Each event is risk-assessed and discussion had with volunteers in advance to ensure the right support is in place.

Any Age/Gender restrictions: Volunteers must be aged 16 or over.

Volunteers aged 16-17 must have parental/guardian consent to them volunteering, signing their application form.
Support for volunteers with additional needs: Each event is risk-assessed and discussion had with volunteers in advance to ensure the right support is in place.
Induction Arrangments: Information packs provided in advance; induction in advance for some events; on the day information and training, as required.
Insurance Cover: Yes
Support Available: Support on the day from the fundraising team.
Training: Any task-specific training, as required.
Any Other Arrangements: Covid-19 - each event is risk-assessed and advice then given to volunteers, in line with the government guidelines at the time.
