Community Grants Programme Set to Launch in Bolsover

Applications will open soon for local community groups to apply for the funding.

Bolsover Community and Voluntary Service (BCVS) are pleased to announce that they have been appointed to manage a new Community Grants programme on behalf of Bolsover District Council and Bolsover Partnership

The funding has been made available by the Shared Prosperity Levelling Up Grant Fund from central Government and will focus on “people and skills” within the community.

After a successful bid to manage the grants, BCVS are pleased to have this opportunity to distribute the funds to eligible local organisations.

The objectives of successful Community Grants projects will align to the Shared Prosperity Fund ‘People and Skills’  theme and aims to encourage more people to volunteer, improve confidence, gain new qualifications, and ultimately for some, progress to paid employment.

Mandy Chambers, Chair of Bolsover Partnership said;

“On behalf of Bolsover Partnership, I am delighted that Bolsover CVS has been successful in winning the contract to manage the district’s Community Grants Scheme. This is funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and will provide much-needed grass roots support within communities to increase skills, confidence and positive progression routes into more formal and higher level learning”.

BCVS is also currently recruiting  a diverse panel of individuals to provide local knowledge  and support in  the process of making informed decisions for the Bolsover Community Grants Programme. The Community Grants Selection Panel will play a central role in determining which projects and initiatives receive funding, ensuring that resources are allocated to provide maximum benefit the community.

Steve Morris, Head of Bolsover CVS Development said;

“We are really looking forward to seeing the different applications come in and the projects come to life. We are also looking forward to welcoming the new volunteer panel to the process. By volunteering your time and local knowledge to the Community Grants Panel, you will actively contribute to shaping a brighter future for Bolsover District”
