Derby and Derbyshire ICS

As you may know, after months of planning and meetings, the Derby and Derbyshire ICS (Integrated Care System) launched on 1st July 2022, marking the end of CCGs (Clinical Commissioning Groups).

There are both opportunities and risks for our sector through these developments and it is important for Bolsover CVS to support wider sector engagement with and understanding of both.

Please see below a set of resources collated by Wynne Garnett, Programme Lead, Embedding the VCSE sector in the Integrated Care System

  1. “Key messages” produced for partners after the two Integrated Place Executive meetings together with Wynne’s thoughts having been part of them
  2. A link to a recent Kings Fund publication on a strategic approach to volunteering in NHS Trusts
  3. New Patient and Public Involvement Opportunities

Andria Birch, CEO of BCVS has also been participating in a population health management governance programme to raise awareness of VCSE work with system leaders in the context of ICS governance for the last few weeks.   This is resulting in a greater understanding of the contributions of the VCSE sector and in sharing of resources and intelligence by ICS colleagues including a Place funding tool that has been produced by NHS England. This can be viewed at https://share.streamlit.io/nhsengland/aif_allocation_tool/dashboard.py

We will keep you briefed as the system further develops and if you would like to join the VCSE Alliance, developed and operating across the Derbyshire footprint please get in touch with andria.birch@bcvs.org.uk who will make introductions.
