Understand more about the Psychology of Loneliness and Social isolation Tickets, Wed 22 May 2024 at 14:00 | Eventbrite

Time to Shine in Leeds, and the 13 other Ageing Better partners across England set out to use a range of techniques to reduce social isolation and loneliness in people 50+. Along the way we found out more about how social isolation and chronic loneliness can affect people, and some techniques that worked to reduce loneliness.

If you find it easier to work when you understand how what you are doing is impacting people, then join us to find out when and why people are lonely, and how you might start to help them tackle this loneliness.

Many of the things learned about reducing loneliness apply to more than just older people.

The work was a mixture of academic research and practical activities with real people. You won't find any quick fixes but this session will offer you some ideas you might be able to use as starting points for your plan.

There will be a chance to talk to others and share ideas during the event

This course is an excellent companion to 'Addressing barriers to participation via outreach comms'.

Fundraisers Survival Guide MASTERCLASS Tickets, Tue 18 Jun 2024 at 11:30 | Eventbrite

We hear a lot about how fundraising is a struggle and the impact this has on fundraisers’ well-being.

But what can we actually do about it?

Led by Fundraising Expert (and Life Coach) Rosie Milsom, our NEW Fundraisers Survival Guide MASTERCLASS will take you through practical steps you can take to navigate the system (and avoid burnout!)

In this Masterclass, we will share the tools, top tips, and expert advice that you can put into practice to meet the challenges of being a fundraiser with real confidence.

Who is it for?

This Fundraisers Survival Guide MASTERCLASS is designed for anyone who works in Fundraising or with responsibilities of fundraising within their role.

It will be particularly helpful for fundraisers from smaller charitable organisations with limited resources.

What to expect

During the 1-hour session, the masterclass will look at:

  • Practical tips for understanding, reframing, and overcoming rejection.
  • Managing your expectations (and the expectations of your colleagues or Board)
  • How to align your ambitions.
  • Signs of burnout and how to avoid it.
  • Tips for building and maintaining confidence.

All attendees of the live Masterclass will receive a copy of the session recording. We will also make the recording available to purchase on-demand via our website after the session.

Course Details: When: Tuesday 18th June 2024, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm Where: Delivered via Zoom - ID and Password will be emailed to you prior to the event.
