Volunteers are welcome to assist us in running this year's Clowne Gala, which takes place on Saturday 13 July at Clowne Community Centre and Villa Park. A small committee works together to arrange the event and new members are always welcome, particularly those with specialisms such as social media, marketing etc and also those who would like to help in the practical aspects of running the event on the day itself.

The charity has an opportunity to join a team of dedicated Trustees to help support young people within Bassetlaw to learn new skills, reach their goals and become the best version of themselves.
The Board meets 6 times per year including an AGM. The meetings currently take place during the day on Thursday afternoons and last between 2-3 hrs. Trustees make collective decisions regarding applications for funding from the Grant Giving Trust.

Volunteer to help in the Bassetlaw Veterans Hub allotment which also has access to a large poly-tunnel to grow indoor fruit or veg. There are other allotments available but ours has been set aside for Veterans and their families. You can grow your own vegetables, learn (or teach) new skills and give back surplus produce to help the Food Bank to support vulnerable people.

Friends of Woodlands and Coachwood Green are an established Community Group based at Shireoaks, that works to develop, maintain and enhance the former Shireoaks Colliery now known as Woodlands and Coach Wood Green. We do this in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council and we have recently leased an area which is being developed as a Wildlife Discovery Area, to create a place where people can visit to learn about the habitats and species.

Does your passion lie with the natural world?
Our site is attached to the 90 hectare country park which is very special habitat for wildflowers including rare orchids as it sits on top of magnesium limestone. It also boasts many dragonflies and damselflies and an array of birds and mammals.
Our nature group monitors and records our wild visitors for both local and national charities like Butterfly Conservation and carries out small habitat improvement projects.
