Opportunity Description: There is an opportunity to join our enthusiastic and passionate team of Welcome desk volunteers. Responsibilities will include, but are not restricted to; answering the telephone, dealing with members of the public in a warm, friendly manner and providing information about the services available at the Crossing Church and centre.

Who we are looking for: Previous experience in a similar role would be helpful, but is not required as full training will be given and support is in place too. Somebody who is happy to be helpful to others would be well suited to this role.
Requirements: Will require a Criminal Record Check (DBS)
Suitable for: Indoors
Practical considerations: You will be dealing with members of the public and possibly answering questions about public services as well. Knowledge of the local area isn't a requirement, but can be beneficial.

Disabled Access details: There is a ramp to the entrance of the crossing, doorways are wide and there is an elevator onsite as well.
Expenses details: We can discuss assistance for transport expenses

Support for volunteers with additional needs: Yes, we always endeavour to support volunteers with additional needs.
Induction Arrangments: We are happy to offer a trial run and a follow up meeting after a six week period to ensure things are going well.
Insurance Cover: Yes, there is insurance cover
Support Available: There will always be a leader on site for you to speak with. There is also the volunteer coordinator, who you can contact freely via email or telephone.
